In Tecnocad, thanks to the collaboration with CIM4.0 and Politecnico di Torino, which have created and installed an automatic and digitized line, we started the production of surgical masks. A completely Italian supply chain also with regard to the raw material. This is our answer to gain autonomy within our territory on products that have become essential.
“During the lockdown – explains the CEO of TECNOCAD Germano Cini – thanks to the collaboration with CIM 4.0 and the Politecnico we have tried to give a concrete answer to an important need generated by the pandemic such as the lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We immediately made all our technical and production resources available to carry out an operation that for our company has above all a social and ethical value in the favor of our territory “.
This pilot line will allow to implement and test innovative technologies and increasingly eco-sustainable materials and to replicate automatic production lines for PPE at other companies. It is based on modular systems that minimize specific investment costs, and “open” components to allow hardware and software improvements and testing of innovative 4.0 solutions by the companies and start-ups of the Italian ecosystem. The production process allows the production of 80 pieces per minute and can be continuous 24 hours a day.
What are the features that make this new line truly 4.0?
- Application of the principles of World Class Manufacturing, which guarantee maximum productivity, total safety and ergonomics of workers and the minimization of waste and energy consumption;
- Real-time monitoring and remote control of the production process, in order to guarantee the maximum possible production efficiency and identify anomalies promptly, also thanks to predictive maintenance logics aimed at minimizing downtime;
- Realization of the Digital Twinning of the line, in order to simulate operational and calibration activities and to optimize production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
